Worldwide Education and Care are currently recruiting for Deputy Early Years Manager of our wonderful clients in the slough arera.

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

To assist the Early Years Manager to plan, manage and develop the daily operation and administration of the early years provision in order to provide a safe operational environment and good quality care, learning and play for the children.

To assist the Early Years Manager to manage other operational aspects of the setting in order to facilitate the use of the settings by partner agencies delivering multi-agency services to parents and children in the local neighbourhood.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES.

  • To deputise for the Early Years Manager in his / her absence and, on a daily basis, to assist with the management of the early years provision, including the management of staff deployment, supervision and support; operational plans and procedures; curriculum and educational programmes; catering; health and safety procedures, cleaning routines and administration.
  • To ensure full care and supervision is provided for the children and that the needs of the children are met, including working directly with the children and working in close partnership with the primary schools in the local area.
  • To control daily operational expenditure within an allocated budget, ensuring that resources are used cost-effectively.
  • To promote high standards of behaviour and discipline and to uphold and promote the policies on equalities and inclusion.
  • To assist the Early Years Manager to draw up operational policies and procedures and to implement the same, ensuring that OFSTED standards are met and records kept as required.
  • To liaise with and support parents and carers and to promote and market the setting with parents, local schools, other early years settings and the local community.
  • To assist the Early Years Manager to facilitate the use of the Centre by partner agencies in order to deliver multi-agency services to parents and children in the local neighbourhood.
  • To lead planning and staff meetings, to liaise with external agencies and to attend meetings within or on behalf of the service as required.

Experience and knowledge

Significant experience of working with children in an early years environment, 1 year of which should be in a supervisory position with responsibility for staff.

Experience of partnership working with different organisations.

Experience of working in a multicultural community and of promoting and marketing a service in a disadvantaged area.

Extensive knowledge of early years legislation and the principles and practices of early education.

An understanding of the principles of staff management and cost control.

An understanding of and commitment to equal opportunities.

Quaifications and Skills

A level 4 qualification in early years practice or equivalent.

Evidence of continuous professional development and a willingness to undertake further training

Good management and organisational skills to guide, support and develop staff in an early years setting and to work towards quality assurance accreditation.

Ability to assist with the development of operational policies and procedures, in line with OFSTED regulations and other legislation.

Ability to use tact and diplomacy, to inspire confidence and enthusiasm and to persuade and influence others.
