We are currently recruiting for the position of Human Resources Manager (Learning and Developing) within our client’s office based in Lambeth. Successful candidates can expect a competitive salary, additional training and have the opportunity to grow and progress in their career.

Purpose of the Role:

  • Support Corporate and Directorate learning and organisational development plans and strategies including the identification and implementation of learning and organisational development activities, which promote the achievement of the organisation’s aims and objectives and ensure the efficient and cost effective delivery of services.

  • Promote, facilitate, deliver and advise on a wide range of learning and organisational development activities to meet specified needs, including training, coaching, mentoring, e-learning, self-managed and action learning and be responsible for operational delivery of the Learning and Development service.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • To direct and deliver creative and innovative learning and development programmes and activities to meet Corporate and Directorate Learning and Organisational Development plans and change initiatives. Coordinate employee learning and development initiatives and activities. Support the development and delivery of leadership and management development programmes, including coaching, talent management and succession planning. Develop and manage employee engagement activities.

  • To take responsibility for management of the L&D function as required, identifying L&D needs and ensuring the function supports Directorates’ systems and plans, national qualifications, government targets or new legislation. To participate in the preparation and delivery of Directorate or corporate learning and development plans which prioritises needs and links to the key objectives of the directorate/council.

Essential Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of L&D best practice including all aspects of diversity.
  • Degree or equivalent managerial level qualification or graduate membership of a relevant professional body

Desirable Criteria:

  • A proven track record of providing clear, balanced advice and guidance on learning and development.
  • Sustained and successful experience of working with a team in a customer focused organisation dealing with L&D issues.
  • Evidence of designing and delivering L&D activities
