Role Overview:
As the Nursery Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management of the nursery, ensuring the highest standards of safeguarding, health and safety, and child protection. You will maintain accurate records and systems, lead a team effectively, and ensure compliance with Ofsted and statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day operations of the nursery, ensuring a smooth and efficient running of the setting.
Conduct tours and show prospective parents around the nursery, demonstrating your passion and enthusiasm for early years education.
Manage nursery budgets, including invoicing, fee calculations, back office tasks, material ordering, HR, and finance responsibilities.
Ensure compliance with Ofsted statutory requirements and nursery policies and procedures.
Foster strong partnerships with parents and build positive relationships through events and drop-in sessions.
Manage occupancy rates and recruitment, including staff supervisions and appraisals.
Ensure the effective implementation of the EYFS curriculum and prepare for Ofsted inspections.
Adhere to safeguarding procedures and ensure child/staff ratios are maintained.
Handle complex staff issues and oversee safer recruitment practices, health and safety, and human resources.
Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years’ management experience in a large early years setting with proven positive outcomes through OFSTED inspections.
Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and Paediatric First Aid.
Strong leadership skills with experience in motivating and leading teams.
Excellent customer focus with strong interpersonal skills to exceed the expectations of parents and the company.
Robust staff management skills and a clear understanding of quality development.
Effective communication skills and proficiency with computerised systems.
Person Specification:
Proven experience as an Early Years Manager in a large setting.
Demonstrated ability to achieve positive outcomes through OFSTED inspections.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple aspects of nursery operations.
Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with staff, parents, and other stakeholders.
A commitment to upholding safeguarding procedures and creating a diverse and inclusive environment.
