Job Title: Supply Learning Support Assistant

Location: Various Primary and Secondary Schools
Reporting To: SENCO / Class Teacher / Inclusion Manager

Job Summary:

We are looking for compassionate and dedicated Supply Learning Support Assistants to provide targeted support to pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) or those who require additional help in the classroom. You will work across different schools, supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide tailored support to pupils with additional learning needs, including SEND.
Implement strategies as directed by the SENCO or class teacher.
Foster a positive and supportive relationship with the pupil(s) you are assigned to.
Encourage independence and help build confidence in learning tasks.
Support pupils with social, emotional, or behavioural needs, where required.
Monitor pupil progress and share feedback with relevant school staff.
Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all pupils.
Assist with personal care needs, where applicable.

Requirements:

Experience supporting pupils with additional needs in an educational setting.
A valid Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach to support.
Ability to follow instructions and work under the guidance of teaching staff.
Adaptability to different school environments and pupil needs.

Desirable:

A relevant qualification in SEN support or Learning Support (e.g., Level 2 or 3).
Experience with EHCPs, behaviour plans, or specific learning strategies.
Training in Autism Awareness, ADHD, de-escalation, or mental health support.
