Level 3 Nursery Practitioner

Worldwide Education are currently working with a client based in Hampshire GU11 who are looking for a qualified Nursery Practitioner.

The role of qualified member of the team works within the team to ensure all children attending the setting are receiving high quality care, are kept safe and are welcomed. Our Educators, through our vision and the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework (EYFS) are expected to provide all children with the right to be seen as individuals and celebrate them as unique. Children can flourish through stimulating experiences, which can harness their imaginations and allow them to embrace the wonder and awe of the world, every day.

Education and Training

  • Educated to GCSE level with passes in four or more subjects, two of which are English and Maths
  • Childcare qualified to minimum Level 3 from a recognised awarding scheme. Level 2 candidates may be accepted into the setting but will be required to enrol onto a Level 3 qualification as soon as practicable.
  • Training in the Early Years Foundation Stage
  • Training in Child Protection and Safeguarding Children
  • Training in Understanding Behaviour
  • A current and valid Paediatric First Aid Certificate (6 hour or 12 hours accredited course)
  • Fluency in written and spoken English

Relevant Experience

  • Experience of working in a childcare setting or school got 12 months or more is preferable, however we are prepared to take on newly childcare qualified staff to further train and develop
  • Some pre or post qualification experience of childcare is required such as work experience/short term student placements in a childcare setting, temping, nannying or playgroup work

General and Special Knowledge

  • An understanding of children’s development and their needs
  • An awareness of Equal Opportunities issues
  • An awareness of Health, Hygiene and Safety in the workplace
  • An awareness of special needs and requirements
  • A willingness to self-improve and develop childcare skills
  • An appreciation of customer care skills when dealing with parents

Skills and abilities

  • Relevant skills for working with groups of children 0-5 years old
  • The ability to maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children
  • An ability to carry out light physical duties to include lifting babies and children, housekeeping tasks and setting up resources
  • Emotional resilience in working with challenging behaviours
  • A positive attitude to the use of authority and maintaining discipline
  • Able to communicate effectively with adults and children
  • Good organisational skills
  • A willingness to learn and abide by the settings policies and procedures
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Able to demonstrate reliability and initiative
  • A professional attitude and manner
  • An enthusiastic approach to work
  • Flexibility to cope with the changing needs of the setting
  • The ability to work as part of a team, developing positive relationships with parents, children and colleagues and outside agencies.
  • A willingness to adhere to the settings values

career within in recruitment. I am now the Branch Manager for Langley and work across the
Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire area. I am currently completing my level 3 in recruitment
