Job Description: Nursery Deputy Manager (Maternity Cover)

Location: Beaconsfield HP9

Hours: 40 hours per week | Monday – Friday

Salary: £31,000 – £35,000 per year

Role Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Deputy Manager to join our team on a maternity cover basis. As the Deputy Manager, you will play a crucial role in leading the staff and ensuring the highest standards of care and education for the children. You will assist in the daily management of the nursery, support the Manager, and oversee the smooth operation of the setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support and collaborate with the Manager on a daily basis.
• Assist in staff recruitment in line with Footsteps Day Nurseries’ procedures. Supervise staff and students, conduct regular assessments, identify training needs, and foster teamwork.
• Plan and prepare engaging activities that support the individual development of children, in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
• Work as part of a team to create an enabling environment where children can play, develop, and learn.
• Undertake additional duties to ensure the nursery runs smoothly and that the safety and well being of children, staff, and families are maintained.
• Cover for the Manager in their absence, including opening and closing the nursery.

Requirements:

• Level 3 Childcare Qualification is essential (NNEB, BTEC Nat Dip, CACHE Dip in Childcare, NVQ Level 3, EY Educator).
• Over 1 year’s experience working in Early Years.
• Passion and commitment for working in childcare.
• Ability to work shifts between 7.30 am and 6.30 pm, Monday to Friday.
