Job Description: Nursery Third in Charge

Location: Beaconsfield HP9

Hours: 40 hours per week | Monday – Friday, various shifts from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm

Salary: £29,000 per year

Role Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Third in Charge to join our team. This role requires a Level 3 Childcare Qualification and involves leading and supporting the team to deliver exceptional care and learning experiences for our children. You will be instrumental in providing stimulating environments and ensuring that the needs of each child are met comprehensively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide engaging and age-appropriate activities and resources to support children’s physical, intellectual, social, and emotional development.
  • Enhance the overall daily needs of the children, ensuring their development is supported in a holistic manner.
  • Assist staff with updating the EyLog system and children’s learning journals to ensure high-quality documentation.
  • Lead by example, promoting respect and consistency while maintaining impartiality.
  • Support the implementation of an effective key person approach, helping children to form secure attachments and identifying staff training needs.
  • Maintain accurate records and manage information relating to children and staff using the EyMan system and other relevant files.
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of every child, staff member, parent, and visitor at all times.
  • Understand and comply with the statutory framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

What We Need From You:

  • Full and relevant Level 3 Childcare Qualification (essential).
  • Over 1 year’s experience working in Early Years (essential).
  • At least 6 months’ experience in a senior position (desirable).
  • Knowledge of Ofsted expectations for achieving a Good or Outstanding rating (desirable).
  • Sound understanding of the EYFS statutory framework and regulatory requirements (essential).
  • Fluent in written and spoken English (essential).
