Overview:

Our client, a well-established day nursery, is seeking a dedicated Early Years Practitioner to join their team. This role is crucial in providing high-quality care and education to children, ensuring they thrive in a safe and nurturing environment. The ideal candidate will hold a full and relevant Level 3 qualification in Early Years and have a strong understanding of the EYFS framework. You will play an integral role in implementing the daily routine, supporting the development of the children, and working closely with the team to maintain high standards of care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a high standard of physical, emotional, social, and intellectual care for children.
  • Implement daily routines in line with EYFS and Ofsted requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of children’s development and learning.
  • Ensure a safe, stimulating environment that meets safeguarding standards.
  • Engage with parents/carers, providing feedback and building positive relationships.
  • Support the development of good practice in special needs and inclusion.
  • Maintain professional relationships with team members and contribute to a positive working environment.

Health and Safety:

  • Uphold health and safety policies, ensuring a clean and secure environment.
  • Be vigilant in following emergency and security procedures.
  • Provide comfort and care to children when needed, including nappy changing and comforting an ill child.

Teamwork and Staff Support:

Collaborate with the team, offering guidance and support where necessary.

Participate in self-development activities, including appraisals and training.

Support and mentor staff and students, fostering a collaborative team culture.

General Duties:

Adhere to company policies, including those on diversity and equal opportunities.

Maintain confidentiality and respect within the setting.

Assist with domestic tasks as required, ensuring the setting runs smoothly.

Person Specification:

Qualifications: Level 3 qualification in Early Years (e.g., CACHE, NVQ), with additional qualifications in Paediatric First Aid and Safeguarding being desirable.

Experience: Previous experience in a nursery setting with a solid understanding of the EYFS framework.

Skills: Excellent communication, planning, and organisational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
